Sarah and Graydon Our Story: Sarah and Graydon met when they each ventured out from Small Town, Ontario and both arrived in Ottawa to begin university in the fall of 1994. Through late-night talks and later-night TV-watching, that first year saw their quickly-developing friendship strengthen and grow into something special. And unknown.

The following September, Sarah and Graydon comprised 40% of a closely-knit fivesome that thought it a good idea to rent a house together. And it seems that perhaps they were right; it was a good idea. Good fun, road trips, movies, and a little bit of education. Of course, this is also when Sarah began to cook for Graydon, thus further strengthening their friendship and his dependence on her.

That said, Graydon made the very difficult decision to leave behind an extremely close group of friends and moved home (to Peterborough) to finish his degree.

The geographic distance that lies between Ottawa and Peterborough meant that, despite frequent visits to the Nation's Capital, whatever cosmic plan was in motion had to be put on hold. The bond that existed between Sarah and Graydon was stretched the length of highway 7 but it would not break, strung up, instead, like the phone lines that run along our Trans-Canada. Through static, wrong numbers, and an occasional hangup, their connection grew into something dynamic. And unknown.

Being accustomed only to short, sporadic visits, many thought it curious that Sarah and Graydon would even consider themselves possible traveling companions. But when Sarah's enthusiasm and curiosity met Graydon's spontaneity and passion for Canadiana, they became ideal partners in an ongoing cross-country exploration.

These explorations (westward via train in 1999 and eastward in 2000) were the blocks they used to build upon an already strong foundation of friendship. And, though the geographic distance was sometimes still present, the unknown had been discovered. And they loved it. And each other.

In June of 2002, Sarah and Graydon began planning the next journey on their exploration of life with each other: marriage. Join them on July 19th, 2003 to wish them Bon Voyage!
